Media Coordinator, Development Dialogue Asia 


About the OrganizationDevelopment Dialogue Asia (DDA) is a strategic communications initiative that works to preserve tropical forests, to protect the rights of Indigenous communities, and to advance sustainable land use as a climate change solution. Our highly skilled team of professionals are trained experts in the areas of communication strategy, digital and print media, influencers, data science, and campaigns. Team members have backgrounds in journalism, civil society organizations, digital agencies, PR firms, international and multilateral organizations. Development Dialogue Asia acts as part of an international network of communications professionals, and works closely with top digital agencies, mission-driven PR firms, and allied teams in other countries. 

We work in partnership with civil society organizations (CSOs), the academia, and cultural and philanthropic organizations in Indonesia to create communication strategies that strengthen initiatives aimed at our key topics mentioned above. Our core capacities include:

    Research: social listening, audience segmentation, media analysis, narrative mapping, and message testing.Media: media relations advice and amplification of content.Influencers: media training for experts and spokespeople; partnerships with celebrities and digital influencers.Digital communication: strategies for social media, audience orientation and network analysis.Strategic response: crisis management and combating trolling, fake news and disinformation.We do not support candidates or political parties, nor do we engage in elections or political lobbying. 

About the Role of Media Coordinator

Development Dialogue Asia is hiring a Media Coordinator to help Media Manager in coordinating with all the stakeholders within media partners, CSOs, and others. 

1. Managing DDA media infrastructure: 

    Assist in managing all the communication output from media partners. Make sure all the output is on the right track in terms of executing, and messaging. And collecting the output in the form of evaluation: numbers of coverage, PR value, and engagement reach. It’s including helping to manage the Spokespersons program and special column in media. Participated in weekly insight with research institution, Kedai Kopi. To know the latest update in media and social media. Collaborating and supporting other work stream branches (research, influencer) on DDA in managing issues or projects. Willing to accompany journalists on the media trip, together with partners, if needed. Connecting the media partners into a collaboration to give better coverage or engagement in managing issues.

2. Building narrative with CSO: 

    Have the capability to give insight into connecting the CSOs' works with media. Also see a potential issue that needs to be pushed in the media, both nationally and internationally. Attending the meetings with CSOs if the media manager is unable to join.

3. Relationship with media: 

    Assisting the media consultant in building and maintaining relationships with wider media. Helping to identify potential media that need to be engaged intensively for land-use issues. 

Specific deliverables will be submitted to the DDA Media Manager according to agreed-upon timelines/ deadlines between Director, Manager, and Media Assistant, and as outlined in the work plan. 

Monthly reports detailing progress against Scope of Work activities are to be submitted to DDA along with invoices for monthly fees and expenses.LocationPreferably based in Jakarta, Indonesia.
